Edgard Mendivil Figueroa.

Peruvian, Cusquenian born, professional tour guide with 24 years of experience guiding and 12 years  experience tour leading different groups all over Peru and other countries like Ecuador, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina and Brazil.

Even he was born in Cusco, his first years after born were all at Quillabamba until he was 7 years old when the parents moved his family into Cusco as a consequence of all social problems generated by terrorist groups in his family´s area. Once at Cusco he was educated with the Salesians catholic congregation during elementary and high school then educated at Saint Marie Catholic University, Saint Anthony Abad University and Tupac Amaru Technical school.

Edgard studied in the Saint Marie Catholic University of Arequipa and is Bachelor on Electrical Engineering before all his formation on History and Tourism. Before finishing Electrical Engineering he started to work as a translator (English into Spanish and vice versa) for a tour company based on his education on two different languages schools EXCEL and ICPNA. This experience is consider by him the beginnings of all his relationship with his country, history, passion and current profession.

During his professional life Edgard had the privilege of being selected by different tour companies for guiding important Peruvian visitors like politicians, diplomatic, Hollywood actors and actresses,  singers, etc etc. He was also professor of History in the School of Tourism during 3 years at Cusco´s Andean University and currently is member on Machupicchu´s 100 years National Geographic project and was consider lecturer of Peruvian History invited by different universities like Bolivarian University of Caracas, Autonomous University Gabriel Rene Moreno Santa Cruz Bolivia, Ibague University of Colombia and University Norte do Parana of Brasil. Besides, Edgard is a guide recommended by Forbes magazine and has been participated on the documentary titled “Passport to Peru”.  About tourism, Edgard was educated as a Professional Tour Guide in Tupac Amaru Technical School and graduated on 1995, since then; he has been working for several different companies with labors like sabretacher, transfer, counter, bookings and operations coordinator, master chard, guest relations officer, office supervisor, administration, management, guiding, tour conductor, tour leading and the last 7 years tour manager senior. He is also a non graduated archeologist using his entire academic formation on all services provided to visitors on his tours, the methods he uses were qualified as comparative history and academic guiding tours and his so deep passion for his country was always well appreciate by all his clients.

Edgard´s filosophy of guiding is having a unique artistic sensibility to connect imaginary with imagination. One can say that he loves the art of mind blowing travelers. As a complement and hobby he also likes guiding families with kids and must be the consequence of having a nontraditional family with 5 daughters. Besides being a tour leader and a so happy husband and father of 5 daughters he is member of a Christian church and nowadays his research focuses on Catholic Church History related to Peruvian conquest history.
